ItsIt programs are designed to “edutain” (educate and entertain) children, and are delivered in a variety of venues. The programs are written to focus on topics and choices that children need to learn in order to promote emotional balance between six basic human personality traits — Self-Love, Self-Power, Intimacy, Solitude, Equality and Influence. Each ItsIt character was created to represent each of these personality traits, inherent in everyone, and that impacts how each of us deal with ourselves, others and situations.

Topics addressed in our programs are relevant to what kids deal with in today’s world.
They teach children emotional balance by connecting their feelings with their behavior.

Awareness and understanding of these connections help them learn effective and constructive coping skills, which increase their ability to challenge themselves even in the face of adversity.

Our programs target children ages 3 to 7. This age group was selected as research indicates that children during early childhood, regardless of their environments, are better able to absorb new information. Younger children, even those in compromised situations, still tend to have hope, and with knowledge and encouragement can grow into secure and productive adults.

We encourage parents and/or caretakers and teachers to learn what it is the ItsIts are teaching as a way to become more adept at meeting the needs of today’s children, and developing a better understanding of what children are not communicating.

Do You Know What’s Happening to our Kids?

Today our kids need more attention then ever, yet our society seems to overlook this vulnerable and impressionable population, with no “real” thought to the fact that they are our future. Here are just a few of the facts:

Bullying
Out of 15,600 American children aged 6-10, nearly three in ten say they bully their classmates, are the victims of a bully or both (2001 study by Tonja Nansel, National Institute of Child Health and Development).

General Violent Crime
More than half the violent crimes committed against children involved victims age 12 or younger (BJS Survey of State Prison Inmates, 1991).

Obesity
More than 10% of U.S. children ages 2 to 5 are overweight (2002 figures released 2004 by the American Heart Association).

Abductions
Each year, 3,600 to 4,200 children are abducted by someone outside the family; at least 19% of these abductors are not strangers to their victims (Discover Magazine).

Molestation
50% of reported child molestations involve the use of physical force, and child molesters produce as much visible physical injury as rapists - 39% of victims (Dr. Gene Abel, National Institute of Mental Health Study).

Suicide
According to the Surgeon General, a youth commits suicide every two hours in our country. In the U.S. in 2000, suicide was also the 3rd leading cause of death among children ages 10 to 14, with a rate of 1.5 per 100,000 children in this age group.
