Dear
Parents, Child Caregivers and Teachers:
Let me congratulate you for doing one of the most
important, but often frustrating jobs of all time …
Meeting the needs of children. As delightful as children
are, the job isn’t always easy and in recent years has
become more difficult given the fast pace of our
society, day-to-day stressors, lack of resources and
increasing costs.
On a daily basis you deal with critical child-related
issues such as discipline, safety, childcare, education
and health. Some feel confident to deal with the many
issues, while others find themselves floundering.
Whatever the case, it’s safe to say that when a child’s
needs are not met and their issues not addressed, more
often than not a child will experience greater distress
and their issues will develop into more serious and more
long-term problems.
I founded ItsIt Inc., and created cartoon characters to
help make things a little easier for you. The ItsIt
characters and the messages they provide will help you
handle delicate issues as well as offering your children
a fun way to learn valuable lessons. The first ItsIt
book of a series “Meet the ItsIts” will be available by
the end of September, 2006. I hope you and your children
enjoy it.
The ItsIt, Inc., website ItsItville.com was launched for both
children and parents. My goal is to create a children’s
site that you can trust will be safe, and offers unique,
fun, educational, and appropriate content.
As ItsIt, Inc. grows the amount of activities and
resources offered on the website will also grow.
Presently, our website offers some fun activities to
help better acquaint children with the ItsIts, and
offers parents, child caregivers and teachers a format
for sharing information and finding child-related
resources.
The Parents Corner offers a
message board where you are
free to ask specific child-related questions and receive
responses. Note: Although the answers to your
questions will be responded to by a qualified family
therapist, it is not intended to replace traditional
therapy nor should any response be interpreted as any
form of therapy or counseling. It is understood that the
responders and ItsIt Inc., can not be held responsible
for any changes in behavior, actions on the part of a
parent, child caregiver or teacher, or any outcomes
and/or results that may or may not occur.
We look forward to serving you and hope you will support
our growth and commitment to children. We welcome your
comments and suggestions as it is our desire to create a
website that delivers information and tools that meet
your needs and the needs of children. At ItsIt, Inc., we
care about parents and we care about your kids!
Sincerely,
Kay Francis, M.A., L.M.F.T.

Why the ItsIts came to be
As a play therapist and family therapist, I
discovered that resources and teaching tools were
limited for children from ages 3 to 7. I was forever
creating some type of game or writing some type of
story that would interest the child I was counseling
and at the same time was able to address their
specific issue.
I went on to teach in the corporate world. Although,
this audience was much older than the children I
counseled, they still had unresolved childhood
issues that had a negative impact on their adult
lives. This is when I realized the need for
children's programs that not only promoted healthier
and happier childhood's, but also helped these
children to grow into more insightful, sensitive,
communicative, productive and fair minded adults;
thus I created the ItsIts.
The ItsIts are not just cartoon characters to keep your
children entertained; they are much more. The ItsIts
offer lessons in self-esteem, self-power, communication
skills, introspection, equality/diversity, influence,
character building, morals, behavior, safety, and most
important they help in the development of their
relationship with self and others. The ItsIts and their
lessons are wonderful teaching tools for parents, child
caregivers and teachers.
